How the practice is held

Practice that returns choice to you

Trauma-informed practice differs less in what is done than in how it is offered. Nothing is adjusted without asking. Instructions are invitations rather than commands, so that the choice of what to do with your own body stays yours throughout.

The practices themselves are ordinary yoga — asana, breath, relaxation — sequenced to build a sense of safety and of being present, rather than to push. You may stop at any point and stay stopped.

  • Invitational language, no hands-on adjustment unasked
  • Practices sequenced for safety and steadiness
  • You may stop, rest or leave at any point
  • Useful for teachers and carers as well as practitioners
