The course

About the course

“Normally in our life, if we know that we are going to be confronted by a difficult or unfamiliar situation, we prepare and train ourselves for such a circumstance in advance, so that when this event actually happens, we are fully prepared.” - HH the XIV Dalai Lama, in his foreword to the Tibetan Book of the Dead.

Caring for a dying family member or friend is one of the most challenging situations there is. Before we can give to others we first have to be at peace with our own mortality and our own fears.

Yoga Nidra offers a gentle way to raise consciousness and to learn tools that release tension, pain and fear. Yoga can be read as the union of life and death, and Yoga Nidra as the science of raising and changing states of consciousness.

Special emphasis is given to the dream and sleep states, the little daily deaths, which offer nightly opportunities to train and prepare. This is one of the most advanced of the Yoga Nidra courses Swamiji teaches.
