YOGA NIDRA AS THERAPY COURSE in more detail:
Yoga Nidra as Therapy has been designed to help people who are suffering from
excessive tension & anxiety, sleep problems such as insomnia & insufficient sleep,
pain, physical, mental and emotional pain. Yoga Nidra is a wonderful relaxation
meditation and is especially suitable to give us relief and energy, and to disengage
from pain and overcome sorrow & suffering.
In Yoga Nidra we train the mind to go around the different parts of the body, and
wherever the mind goes, the pranic life force energy goes and the movement of
prana releases energy blockages which create tension and pain. This is a great
release from physical tension and tightness and is a balm to the nerves that carry the
message of pain and tiredness to the brain and to the receptors in the brain that
register pain and discomfort signals. This also enhances and strengthens the nerves.
Yoga Nidra includes focusing on the breath, which clears energy blockages in the
chakras, resulting in increased energy flow for healing and energising in all areas of
the body, the mind and the various systems & organs connected to the chakras. This
results in deep and real self healing. Focusing on the breath also distracts and
disengages the mind from anxiety, painful memories & experiences. As pain and
other sensations are felt in the nerves and in the brain, when you do the yoga nidra
you train your mind to switch off from the senses and thoughts you thereby learn
how to switch off from physical & mental pain. This gives you a huge relief. When
you get even a little respite from tension, anxiety and pain, the immune system
automatically gets energised and recharged. You feel so relaxed, refreshed and
energised that you get increased strength for self healing and forbearance to deal
with physical and emotional pain. You also see things from a greater perspective so
you can accept and thus let go of your pain.
Yoga Nidra is one of the first things that helps us heal any condition, including
chronic pain. Of course tablets are good for acute conditions, but for chronic
problems, and ailments Yoga Nidra is marvellous. Visualisation in Yoga Nidra is a
panacea because when you visualise you completely forget everything else, and
when you come back you feel refreshed, like you've been on lovely holiday, and you
come back with renewed energy & strength to face life in a different, better way. You
get to see the positive things in your life and you realise that life can be really good
even when you're suffering. This itself leads to healing..
Not included in this course, but highly recommended along with Yoga Nidra, is that
you do a few very simple joint loosening movements such as PM 1, to lubricate,
loosen and release crystalised toxins from the joints. These also release blockages
and stiffnesses and get the prana moving and blood circulation which also relieves
pain. A little pranayama is really good for increasing energy and for toning up the
nerves and muscles, and clearing the mind, which improves general health, which in
turn reduces pain. Such easy practices along with regular walking will help you
overcome and manage pain, and is a good addition to Yoga Nidra. so that you can live
a happier, more fulfilling life.
This Yoga Nidra as Therapy course is suitable for those who have already completed
and are practising the Yoga Nidra Foundation Course and adds deeper practices
especially for all kinds of stress, anxiety, psychosomatic ailments and therapy,
including high blood pressure, heart problems, arthritis, back pain, cancer,
parkinsons, any kind or muscle and nerve problems and psychosomatic problems
and chronic pain. It is also suitable for mental and emotional pain such as trauma
along with a follow up Advanced Course. Do join us online or in the ashram for this
unique course of 5 sessions of 2 hours each. I'm looking forward to sharing it with
you.
