MEDITATIONS FROM THE TANTRAS

Pratyahara practices (5 day courses)
YOGA NIDRA – (Psychic Sleep Meditation) – the hallmark of Satyananda Bihar School of Yoga and the most popular and enjoyable meditation. It is a lying down relaxation meditation which systematically takes you from the world of outer sounds step by step through body, breath and mind to your deep subconscious to release negativity, tap into creativity and positivity and explore your deeper consciousness, connecting to your Higher Consciousness.
ADVANCED YOGA NIDRA – (the most popular meditations) – 5 or more advanced versions including Creative Visualization, Chakra Visualization, Healing Visualization, Conquering Your Fears and Phobias, Exploring Inner and Outer Space, Peeling the Onion (examining your life roles), Forgiveness, Creating Your Future, and others.
MEDITATION MEDLEY – How to sit comfortably and still, how to begin meditating, how to focus the wandering mind, how to deal with pain, how to go deeper into your present meditation practice, and how to connect with your Higher Consciousness.
AJAPA JAPA – Meditation on the breath using a universal or personal mantra to calm, focus, and purify the mind. This practice leads the mind inward, aligning it with the rhythms of nature and connecting with Higher Consciousness. The breath becomes a constant companion and faithful guide.
ANTAR MOUNA MEDITATION – A practice of witnessing the senses, thoughts, and emotions, allowing you to step back, gain control of the mind, and shift toward positivity. It leads to a transcendence of the mind, guiding you into the silent, spacious inner realm of energy and awareness—Antar Mouna.
TRATAK – If you find it difficult to meditate with closed eyes, open them to gaze steadily at a candle flame, the sunrise, sunset, or another natural point of focus. This practice helps to purify, energize, and connect you to Cosmic Consciousness through focused seeing and mindful breathing. It is especially beneficial for calming restless minds, improving children’s concentration, supporting better sleep, enhancing psychic awareness, and nurturing creative, artistic minds.
MANTRA MEDITATIONS – Experience mantra chanting in its three forms: Vaikhari (aloud), Manasic (mentally), and Upanshu (silently). Practices include Likhit Jap (writing or drawing mantras), Chankramanam (walking with mantra), and exploring how to receive the deepest benefits from mantras and their associated Yantras—powerful geometric symbols.
